Chic Holiday Windows
Paris and London
Paris and London have some exquisite holiday windows of their own. Chanel is forever chic – but beyond its own Paris stores, the label is featured in the Christmas displays at Printemps, too. This year, the famous department store on boulevard Haussmann picked Russian folklore as its holiday theme. Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel, along with John Galliano and Victoire de Castellane of Dior, designed windows that celebrated a Russian Christmas.
Harrods in London is celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz this Christmas. Their windows are decked with fashionable Oz scenes. I love the shoes outside the building – “the Wicked Witch is dead.” Last month during my London shopping visit, there was a gigantic Range Rover in the window.
Selfridges has some gorgeous displays as well. Like the holiday windows at Bergdorf in New York, Selfridges spotlights an Alexander McQueen dress front and center – this one in red, below. Love it – chic and festive.
Special thanks to my friend Rosita Kerdlarppol for her photos of the Printemps windows. If you have any favorite holiday windows, email me or share them on Facebook. It’s such fun seeing how stores from all over the world celebrate the Christmas season in style.
