Corto Moltedo bags

Susan Hectic bag
Thirty-one year old Gabriele Corto Moltedo was born to design bags. His parents, Laura and Vittorio Moltedo, founded the famous Italian luxury label Bottega Veneta in the north of Italy in the 1960s. After graduating in art history from NYU and gathering experience in the fashion industry, including with the Gucci Group for a couple of years, he launched the brand Corto Moltedo in 2004 in Paris.

Mori Shopping Bag
The extraordinary detailing and use of lavish colors, bold hardware and only the most luxurious materials have been gaining attention ever since. The bags are manufactured near Florence by artisans using the same ancestral techniques that have given Italian leatherwear its fame. Corto’s designs are a younger take on this heritage, embodying a pop-luxe chic that has been called an aggressive glamour. Bags that don’t take themselves too seriously, but epitomize the zeitgeist like almost nobody else’s.

Kaori Clutch
Never trying to be low key, his designs have been embraced by Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova, Dita Von Teese, Natalie Press, Bond girl Olga Kurylenko and stylists like Charlotte Stockdale.

Elisabeth Bag
His fall/winter collection for 2008/2009 features beautiful puffy bags in python and leather, crocodile totes with flashy handles, evening clutches with gold accents in a bed of Swarovski stones or a day clutch with origami details. The bags retail between $550 and $1400.

Mori Tote
Corto’s first flagship store will open in the Jardins du Palais Royal in the historic heart of Paris in early 2009. It will feature treasures for women and men alike, including an installation from renowned Colombian artist Frederico Uribe. Bespoke services will also be available.
