Haute Couture Fall 2011
Elie Saab

Elie Saab, the king of red-carpet dressing, showed a stellar défilé de mode for the Haute Couture. It’s rare when I can say I loved everything about a collection, but I loved this one, from the palette (blush, aquamarine, slate blue, bronze) to the shimmering beadwork. It was a vision of lightness, overflowing with lace, tulle and chiffon–so feminine and full of glamour!

This collection had everything I love most about Elie Saab in particular, and the Haute Couture in general. There’s so little glamour left in the world, but Elie’s a big believer, and I’m on the same page. Bring back glamour, I say!

Backstage, after the show, I was interviewed by Vanity Fair and the reporter and I continued this discussion about glamour. I mentioned how much I love dressing up–and if I needed something for a grand, black-tie event, an Elie Saab gown would be at the top of my list. There’s no question, Elie wants to make women look and feel beautiful. Which was evident in this innocent, almost nostalgic, collection, as wonderful as something out of a dream.

an Elie Sabb dress is like a dream, the 2nd one is like a fantasy from outer space! heard the house has already started a diffusion line, hope he can transform some of the Couture fantasy into RTW pieces.
