Haute Couture Fall 2011
House of Worth

House of Worth -

Last season, I went to see Giovanni Bedin‘s haute couture collection for The House of Worth for the first time. As you may recall, it was all about corsets (paired with tutus) and, as a contemporary collection, it was a little difficult to understand. But this time, I saw a real evolution in Giovanni’s work: corsets had turned into dresses, gowns and especially jackets. Everything was black, white or nude; there were elements of panniers and crinoline cages; and most pieces were finished with intricate lace details.

The presentation was mounted, once again, in the gorgeous reception rooms of the hôtel particulier France-Amériques: an appropriately stunning spot for the grand unveiling of Giovanni’s latest (and equally stunning) collection.

What a collection–retro, yet modern; soft, but strong; plus delicate and sexy, all at the same time. I was taken away–and even had my eye on a few pieces that were so me! Bravo to Giovanni, and to the reborn House of Worth!
