Prêt-à-Porter Fall 2009:
Lanvin

It’s no secret that I love Lanvin. Alber Elbaz creates clothes for the chic modern woman and his collection on Friday was no exception. It was perfection. I would literally wear every piece. It was strong and elegant, with Forties-inspired suits gathered into soft peplums in the front, gorgeous fur stoles, cascading ruffles tempered with tailored silhouettes. There were short pieces, long pieces – something for everyone.

Held at the Halle Freyssinet in the 13 arrondissment, the runway was made to look like black asphalt, signifying that these were not just precious clothes for models on the catwalk but for the modern woman with places to be. Alber says he appreciates the strong woman and that sentiment was certainly reflected in this chic collection with an edge.

The show received a standing ovation. Afterward, I went backstage and told Alber that I desired every piece in the collection. Without him, I swear, I would have nothing to wear! His designs embody my style. But it’s not just me who feels that way, because he really understands the cuts, draping, look and feel that a woman seeks in her clothing.
With Alber Elbaz after the amazing show
It was pretty much a who’s who of fashion as far as the attendees go… All the major global fashion editors were there. Bianca Jagger and Jade Jagger of my Mother Daughter Inherited Beauty Chic List came together, and I asked Bianca if she still goes to Janet Sartin for her facials. She told me she wished she could but doesn’t spend too much time in the States any more. Kristin Scott Thomas and Alexandra Lamy were also there.
