While in London recently, I met with Marigay McKee, fashion and beauty director at Harrods. I’d seen her at the FT’s Business of Luxury Summit in Beverly Hills, but it was nice to have a bit more time to talk. It was also great to visit Harrods again, which is such an incredible department store. Before our appointment, I shopped my way through the different levels and came across some amazing pieces by David Koma.

I’d never heard of him before–not surprising, since he’s from St. Petersburg and just graduated from Central Saint Martins last year–but I was immediately taken by his work. I love his architectural shapes and his ability to make strong, modern clothes without getting too crazy. I realize it’s not for every woman–but it’s already on my list for Fall.

Harrods itself also took me by surprise. I hadn’t been there in years. It’s huge, of course–and I’m really more of a boutique shopper–but I must admit it was fresh and exciting. I could live there!
