A Dancer’s Life was the theme of the recent 2009 Annual Luncheon, and the event offered a behind-the-scenes look at the Company, with panel discussions and dance demonstrations capturing the journey of a ballerina through the various stages of training, apprenticeship and, finally, a professional career in the company.

I’ve been a balletomane and avid supporter of the The New York City Ballet for a long time, so it’s always a pleasure to attend the galas and mingle with fellow enthusiasts.

Since that was not my calling, I am a passionate fan and frequent attendee of The New York City Ballet performances and galas. Now that I am in the fashion business, I have the opportunity to wear glamorous gowns to these events!
This year the Opening Night was indeed a glamorous affair. The performance was a compilation of old and new ballets, and the creative aspect of a film in the program added a new dimension to the evening.
Continue readingThis past weekend, I flew down to Palm Beach for what is sure to be the most talked-about society party for some time. The occasion was Larry Herbert‘s 80th Birthday celebration, thrown by his wife Michele Herbert at The Breakers. Using the theme An American Dream, Michele paid tribute to her husband’s rise from Brooklyn to business mogul through his invention of the Pantone color system.
